The Complete Journey
The Tsum Valley Trek takes you deep into a hidden Himalayan sanctuary sealed from the outside world for centuries. The valley — a beyul, or sacred hidden land — is home to the Tsumba people, the Shyagya non-violence covenant, and active monasteries at Mu Gompa (founded 1895) and Rachen Gompa. With a maximum altitude of 3,700m and no high pass crossing, the Tsum Valley is an ideal cultural trek for those who want intimate encounters with Tibetan Buddhist traditions without the altitude demands of the great circuits.
